Another story to smile about

The following communication is from Robin,a CrossingPath Rescuer to Mary Ellen Tidwell Pres.of CrossingPaths. AND from the adopter of another precious dog.
Here is an update from the people who got that little jack russell who had the terrible wound on his throat that I got from the shelter and nursed back to health. They have had him under a year but send wonderful updates of how much they love him. He went to a trainer because he was a little nervous around her girls but is perfect now. Such a happy ending!!

Rescuing ONE dog may not change the world BUT
for that ONE dog, the whole world will change!

"I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...and saw in their eyes love & hope, fear & dread, sadness & betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. "I have done something." He replied. "I created you." EVERYONE CAN DO SOMETHING TO HELP!!!!

Hi,

We call him Dexter, but I wanted you to have some recent pictures. He has just been WONDERFUL. I think I told you that we took him to a trainer and ever since, he is a dream with the girls. He cuddles and snuggles and is just a total joy. I’m so glad you saved him!

Kerry

WHAT A BIG HAPPY BOY!

Linda, thanks so much for all that you do and have accomplished this year. We adopted colt, now Bo, maybe one of your largest tasks. I am enclosing a few pics of him to show you how happy and healthy he is and how pleased we are. He is a big lap puppy, baby, and one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had. Have a merry Christmas. With appreciation, Janet, Ray, and Bo Fields

Another Forever Home found! Happiness.

Jackie and Roger

Alice,John and Roger
Mary Ellen, Linda and Shannon,

We are just thrilled with our new baby! He is the sweetest of sweets. We got up at 5:00 this a.m. and headed north for the scheduled early morning pick-up. My heart just broke when I saw his scared face ... but I knew he would be fine because he was coming home with us!

We hit snow as we entered the D.C. area and by the time we got to our neck-of-the-woods (10:30 a.m.) it was really coming down. Knowing Roger hadn't eaten or urinated since yesterday I was rushing my husband to get us home fast! (My bladder was telling me that Roger's bladder was not liking this!!) Roger was great once we got him out of the car. He peed and peed, and being scared, and not knowing his whereabouts, I could tell he was trying real hard not to freak out. He stayed real close to me and trotted right into the house. Slowly, we introduced him to Alice - she wasn't really thrilled as she has been so spoiled - but he just LOVED her ... and ... he JUST LOVES the cats! They were all very curious and had to take a peek - he was thrilled! John and I have worked with him throughout the day and he is doing amazingly well. He pooped, peed and ate. I couldn't ask for anything better!

As promised, here are a few snaps we took this afternoon. I will send better ones when he is more comfortable and knows us.

Can't thank you enough for your kindness, not only to me, but with these homeless and loving animals. WE ARE ALL THANKFUL FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!

Stay tuned...I will give you an update in a few weeks.

This story just goes to show how CrossingPaths and those affiliated with CrossingPaths care so much to make sure every animal has a chance and they go the extra mile. And need I say to make sure every human being has a chance? Heartwarming as usual.

(From Robin one of Crossingpaths awesome rescuers)
Mary Ellen,
I am forwarding the latest update from Jeanne at the one year anniversary since she adopted Dixie. This woman was so awesome! No rescue group up North would adopt to her because she was in her 70's. She chose Dixie, a dog that had been abandoned due to her owners moving to another state for work. She also turned out to be heartworm positive but Jeanne was willing to wait for her to go through the treatment. In Jeanne's care, Dixie's now barks and her tail curves up over her back, something she never did until she reached her forever home. This is a perfect example of a perfect match!!!

Hi Robin,

Thought I'd give you an update on Dixie today, the first anniversary …. or I'm told, our "Gotcha Day." Sometimes it seems I've had her forever, other times like May 16, 2009, was just yesterday.

She had her annual checkup, which included several booster shots and the discovery that she has gained 8 pounds in the year I've been feeding her. She doesn't look that fat to me but my vet recommended smaller portions in her meals and fewer snacks. The latter will be the hardest since I can't resist when she begs with those soulful brown eyes. Even the staff at the vets commented on her eyes. And they all loved her. She's timid, but friendly and once she gets comfortable she begs for affection. Yesterday 2 little neighborhood girls asked if they could take her for a walk. She seemed excited about the prospect until she realized I wasn't going along. She didn't want to go without me so after a bit of unsuccessful coaxing, they brought her home. She's wonderful on those infrequent occasions when I leave her home alone for as long as 7 or 8 hours. She never makes a mess. As I've said before, she is the absolute perfect dog for me.

Hope all's well with you and your family and that you've united dozens and dozens of other folks with their perfect match.

Jeanne

They drove the miles to get their beautiful Max

Good Afternoon,

We have an appointment for Max Grover to be neutered on June 18th at Wolf Rock Animal Health Center in Exeter , Rhode Island. Their phone number is 401-294-0102. Max is doing GREAT. He has an incredible spirit and is extremely intelligent. He comes to work with us and his half sister Maya everyday without exception and is the official “Greeter” at the office , not to mention a big ham when it comes to getting attention! Life would not be the same without him! I have attached a few pictures.

Let me know if you need any further verification of his procedure.

Sincerely,

Lori, Kevin, Max & Maya Grover

Another satisfied human writes to CrossingPath's President. And O what a beautiful girl Nellie is.(previously known as Nutmeg)

Hi Mary Ellen,
I'm sorry it has taken so long to contact you about Nellie. She is awesome. We bonded the first day and now I can take her hiking off-leash with total confidence. She and I are a great match. I am unbelievably happy with her :) Thank you for all of the help and for pulling her from the high kill shelter!

NEWS FROM DOGS THAT RESCUED THESE HUMANS

Dear Ellen, Amanda and Julie
We got our little Benjamin (you know him as Samson - one of the S puppies) last saturday and have been enjoying the best days of our lives since. I have read books and was bracing for sleepless nights of whining, crying, howling, barking as i was told, upon starting his crate training that same weekend. But i have to tell you that he has not done such to us since we got him, of course we made sure we follow the potty training instructions we read in books, making sure he's done them before going to bed. He now goes into his crate voluntarily without having to offer him treats to get inside, takes his toys from us when we play with him and brings them all to his crate, and started humping all over the plush rounded pillow my husband got for him (we noticed he loves to rest his head up over my arm or his blankets when sleeping). He showers me with puppy kisses in the morning, after he eats his meals or when i get home from work. He's the sweetest thing i've ever known! He has an appointment with the vets from People for Animals, Inc. (401 Hillside Avenue, Hillside, NJ Telephone: 973-282-0890) this saturday for routine physical exam and necessary testings appropriate for his age. I'm thinking of changing the vet that i initially gave you to someone closer to home, right now i'm still looking for who's gonna work best for us. Meanwhile, he's already covered with health insurance we purchased for him from Pet Plan which allows us to choose whichever vet we want, regardless of location, so it only made sense to choose someone that's more convenient to us with better or longer hours/days of service. Benjamin (his name means The Son - that's what he is to us; or son from the South, or son of my right hand) policy number is ANP1007493-00 in case you have questions about his health coverage or veterinary information.
Thank you all for your efforts in successfully getting him to us and for taking such great care of him Julie. I will be sending you follow up photos in the future, it's been barely a week but i already have tons of photos in the camera. I hope you have a safe and healthy delivery Julie!

Warm regards,
Carla
