LETTER FROM A HAPPY ADOPTION MOM

Hi Lisa!
I am just writing to you regarding Sara (previously Erin, golden retriever mix). Sara is doing very well, she is now 39 lbs, which is big for her. Sara is very tiny, lovable and loves to cuddle. She loves playing with her big brother Max (2 yr old golden retriever). She is very cute and very curious, she loves to know who is doing what and when they are doing it. Max and Sara like to spend a lot of time looking out our glass storm door so they stay up to date with what is going on in the neighborhood. Our neighbor joke and call them the neighborhood watch team. We can never stay upset with her because when she does something wrong she always apologizes with a kiss. I just wanted to let you know that Sara will be getting fixed Tuesday, August 24,2010. After she is fixed she should not have to go back to the doctors for another year and then back to her cardiologist at 18 months. Sara's heart is beating strong and so far as stayed the same, which is great considering it can worsen up to 18 months old. Sara really has no limits, she plays and runs like a champ, but she knows when her heart needs to settle down. Often Sara will stop playing take a 5-10 break and then she plays some more. I just wanted to let you know that Sara is very loved and is doing great! I have included some new pictures for you to see of Sara and Max!

Another happy story

Hello Ladies;
This weekend is our first anniversary with Marvin (rescued with Crossing
Paths in August 2009) he is pictured in his "SPA" robe in the attachment as
we recently visited The Hotel Monaco in Alexandria Virginia, an extremely
pet-friendly hotel. If you are not traveling with a pet, they lend you a
gold fish for your room. Marvin and his little brother Shadow (rescued
with Puppliesand More in Feb. 2010) got to attend their own "happy hour" and
went on a "Canine Cruise" on the Potomac River (Shadow is pictured longingly
looking at the water-he loves to be in water of any sort). Marvin is now
18 months old and Shadow is nine months old and bigger than Marvin.
Thanks again for everything and for bringing them into our lives

GIVE ME A VOWEL VANNA! NOT ANYMORE SHE IS NOW NAMED AMBER

Hi terry

We are SO in love with this little girl!! She arrived full of kisses and curiosity Sat morning and has made herself right at home. She’s trying to get our older dog snoopy to play. (see pix!) She doesn’t even mind the rabbits (I thought she might bark at them and try to herd them) She’s eating, sleeping peeing and pooping well. Mike our, 12 year old son, named her Amber.

One thing I was wondering, does she have a microchip? She has a vet appt this Saturday –we can get her one then. My biggest concern is that she will get away from us. She doesn’t know her name yet, we have to wait a few weeks until we can start training her to the fence. I’ve never had such a little dog and she’s so sweet and friendly she’d go to anybody!!

I’m looking for a training class so that she’ll learn to come when called etc.

I can’t thank you enough for doing what you do for these dogs. Our family has been extremely blessed by your efforts!!

God bless

Tamela Seitz and family

Celena in her new home.

(Lisa and John are with Semper Fi Rescue and works with CrossingPaths with transport)

Hi Lisa & John,

Selena has had a big weekend! She is doing great and adjusted well to her new home. Attached are some pictures. Sara has decided that we will continue to call her Selena as she is used to the name but is changing the spelling a bit to make it "her own"- Celina.

She slept most of the way home in the backseat with Sara - inching closer and closer until she finally had her head practically behind Sara's back. The initial meeting with "Auntie" Luna was a little tense on Sat. but by day two all is well and they are starting to play. She has enjoyed running about in our big yard and exploring with the girls. We haven't taken her on a tour of the whole farm yet just the yard area for now. She has only had a couple pee accidents in the house and we have been taking her out every time she wakes from a nap or after eating, playing so she is starting to get it. She spends time in her crate at night (with me on the couch for company and potty runs) and a bit during the day when we need a break but for the most part has the run of the downstairs and today found the a.c. vent in the hallway:) When that girl sleeps she really sleeps but she has also shown us her devilish/playful side as well. LOL

Hope you had a good trip home. You are such a wonderful couple to rescue these animals in need and relocate them to new homes. It was amazing to see all the wonderful pets that you had on your vehicle and the loving families that were there to adopt them. Thank you so much for all you do! Please know that Selena will have a loving home for life. We will send pics to update you as she grows.

Warm regards.
Patti Murphy

P.S. Thanks for the "extras" - collar and food. She looks so cute in her ladybug collar.

Allie in her new home.Far far away from Alabama

Hello Lisa. I hope that you had a safe trip back to Alabama. I wanted to share with you some photos of Allie settling in with us here in Allentown. Please share them with Darlene & Mary Ellen. As you can see she took to her big brother Simon quickly. At first she was a bit skiddish of him but warmed up after a walk and play in the park.

I must say I was taken back just a bit with the change in Allie from her photos on Petfinder. As you may recall I thought she looked like a dauschand at first until you placed her down. She has had quite a day and will be meeting the extended family later this evening and tomorrow. I would like to continue to send updated pictures as she grows if that would be alright with you.

Thank you again for all that you and everyone else do with these wonderful animals. Keep up the great work and God Bless.

This is about Noah.Another lucky little boy

Dear Mary Ellen,
It's been about 1 year and four months since I adopted a shepherd mix puppy named Noah from your shelter. We took a trip to our lake house today and his roaming nose took him a few houses down where I could not find him for 20 minutes and had me in a panic! Sure enough as soon as I got in the car to search for him I heard the jingle of his tags as he trotted up the road as if to say ok ok! I heard you, but there was something really good to eat over there. I always know he hasn't gone too far, but the panic i felt at the thought of losing him and the relief I felt as I saw him come running home to me made me realize how much he has brought to my life and how grateful I am to you for allowing me to adopt him. I would have written this sooner, but I was waiting to get some pictures on my computer for you to see of him.

Noah brings a smile to the face of every person (and dog) he meets! He is a true joy. My family was skeptical when I told them i had adopted a puppy, but Noah proved them all wrong. He has literally been an angel, my angel, since the day he arrived. He has made my family a dog family and made me a happier and better person. He was a quiet little guy when he first arrived, who loved to cuddle and take naps! His ears were still floppy then. He quickly became the protector of the house, barking whenever anyone came to the door (or into my room for that matter) but it was always just an alarm... he has never shown anymore than a threat to anyone or anything.. i don't think it is in his nature to harm. Living alone in a small city am grateful for his protective nature! At the same time I have noooo hesitation when someone asks if their small child can play with him. He can take all the ear pulling and head padding you can throw at him and then he will turn around and give them a kiss! He is happiest when he is running... you can tell by his huge smile! He visits lots of farms (one where his big brother, a horse names Tuffy lives) and he could spend all day at each of them! There is never enough to smell for this dog! His favorite things are chasing squirrels, chewing sticks, and rolling the grass. His favorite foods are pizza and hotdogs (which he wishes he could eat all the time) He doesn't like the water, but he does love car rides!!! He was the star in his puppy class. It seemed as if he knew what was being asked of him before he was even taught. Everyone compliments me on what a good job i have done with training him, but the truth is all the credit goes to him! Even people who do not like dogs love noah and welcome him into their homes! As you can see from the pictures his ears finally stood up and there they have stayed. A true shepherd! Everyone loves them.. some people think he is a dingo! He is very smart and knows lots of tricks... but best of all he listens! He has never not done what i have asked of him. He is such a good boy that he gets to go on trail rides with his brother and I! We have moved into an apartment with a yard and he is very well behaved here! He goes everywhere with me and we make daily visits to his grandparents and greatgrandparents houses! where he gets treats, toys and affection! He also goes to daycare when mom is super busy! He LOVES it! He just wants to be friends with every dog he meets.. he practically drags me in the door when we arrive. The girls that work there are always delighted to see noah at the door and sad to see him go at the end of the day! He has lots of friends that we visit too! As you can see in one of the pictures. I am hoping to get him into some agility classes if he likes it and maybe eventually make him into a therapy dog. For now he is my partner! I couldn't imagine life without him.. in fact I often wonder why I even got him....for some day I will be forced to say goodbye to his gentle soul.. but then I look at him asleep in his chair dreaming away and it all makes sense to me.
Thank you again for what you do and for helping bring Noah into my life!
I hope this letter puts a smile on your face and some piece to your mind in knowing where and how he is.
Please know i don't hesitate to tell everyone I meet about your shelter and the wonderful experience I have had.
