CHOCOLATE KIDS! (shhhh fat ones to)

Just a monthly update! Nestle is doing GREAT. She has the greatest and funniest personality. We love her so much. Hershey is so very happy to have her and they are so funny together. We laugh at the dumb things they do. When I give them a bone, Hershey waits until Nestle is done and then he pounces around with his. He chews on his and Nestle just lays there because hers is all gone. The second Hershey looks away she grabs it. Then she chews and Hershey gets mad and walks away. Well Nestle follows and Hershey runs back to the bone. This continues for quite awhile.
They are very popular at the dog park. They are called the chocolate kids. It is great. Nestle is well rehearsed with all the routines and she is so happy. She even walks into the shower on her own for her weekly shower. What a gem. She still chases trucks and now Hershey runs after her. Oh well, what can I say. Picture #1 is the winner of the tug of war with a ripped up ball. I think Hershey just got too tired. Nestle has a lot of energy. Picture #2 is just to show how gorgeous they are together. #3 Is our little girl, isn't she turning into a beauty.
Until next time!
Love,
Nestle, Hershey and Sue

REILLY IN HIS FOREVER HOME

we saw him on petfinder in june of 2007. after agreeing to adopt him he got sick with parvo. all his littermates passed from the desease. after being taken care of around the clock by his foster parent, he made a full recovery. but just before he was to be shipped north to us he ended up getting kennel cough. but like the fighter that he is he recovered just fine. we finally got to meet him in august 2007. since that day he has been one of the family. if we go out he comes with. he is very protective and loves to be a lap dog. rieley has to be the center of our attention most of the time, but also likes to just lay around when its tv time. he loves other dogs and loves people. everyone that meets him wants to take him home with them, but we tell them to get their own. he lets our kids do what ever they want to him and gives them kisses when they are done. we could not have a better addition to our family. thanks to mary ellen and her team of dedicated animal lovers.

Colby in his forever home

TO CROSSINGPATHS
Colby made it safe and sound to PA. He is now living in the Pocono Mountains and will enjoy a large 1 acre yard with an invisable fence.

He is all you said and more. He is tired from his journey and resting a bit! He had a busy start with meeting all the neighbors and family who were happy to welcome him here!

I know you must miss him because he is such a good and loving dog. I will send more news and pictures once I take them and get them posted.

Thanks for doing all you did to get him on the transport on such short notice.

Precious Sammy has his forever home.Angels are smiling.

This story is what it is all about. The end of the journey for a precious little dog that has found someone to love him forever and this is what she wrote about Sammy to President of CrossingPaths:

Hi Mary Ellen,

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how our sweet, beautiful Sammy/Roger is doing. I hope you don't mind but we renamed him Sammy because we felt it just fit him. We adopted him from you last January.

Sammy is my love. He is so good and happy. Smart, too! After all the snow melted here late last February, Sammy got to actually play in his big huge backyard. It only took us a week to train him on the invisible fence. I was scared to let him go that first time but he ran and he ran around the perimeter and never once tried to escape. He loves his yard and he loves Alice our ACD. I enrolled him in a basic canine training class this past late spring. He still has issues with his shyness around over people so I had hoped this would help him. He did really well developing good walking and obedience skills - 4th place! He still can't seem to adjust to other people but we don't care. Maybe some day he'll trust others, but that is up to him.

I hope you take this as a feel-good note to let you know what a wonderful job you and your volunteers do to make just one animal as happy as our Sammy is. He is our joy and there is a reason God pointed me in the right direction when I found Crossing Paths Animal Rescue. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Bless you and all,
Jackie and John Markham
Sammy and Alice, too!

Beautiful Sadie has her forever home.

Sadie is doing wonderfully! She's so happy here in Hoboken, enjoying the city life. Loves the beach and the city equally!! She's just a happy little girl! There was a dog party at my local park this past weekend where they had all sorts of dog activities, including photos! I wanted to send this adorable one through to you and Lisa.

I hope you are continuing saving the lives of helpless dogs in the South and in PA. Your work is so valuable! Thank you again for my little girl!!

All my best,

Lauren

I really can't express how wonderful our Petfinder.com experience has been.
We adopted a lab mix from in February who was being fostered in Alabama.
Rebecca (aka Becky) is the sweetest, gentlest girt. She was described in her
bio as a "love muffin" and that's exactly what we got.
I was told when I picked up Becky that she came to me with a clean slate.
She wasn't housebroken, she'd never been on a leash, etc. She was so bright
that by week's end, she knew her name, several commands, and never had an
accident in the house.
She arrived in NJ during our snowiest winter and being from Alabama, Becky
wasn't quite sure what all the white stuff was. She was very exuberant in
her romp and play time, charging up mounds of piled snow.
To anyone considering Petfinder.com for their next pet, I can give my
advice. Do It!!! We love our Becky and we're so happy to give her a
forever home.
A big thank you to all of the people who volunteer to care and save these
wonderful animals. Irene Greenman

Happy home for Sara (with her new friend Lexi)

Hi Mary Ellen,

My name is Jeff Anton. I adopted Sara the Dachshund from Crossing Paths about 8 months ago and I just wanted to let you know how we are doing. My blood pressure has never been higher, my stress level is over the normal average, but I am overwhelmed with happiness. Sara is exactly what you would expect from a 10 month old puppy, full of energy, affection, and innocence. She is now completely potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Sara is my first adopted dog so I do not have much to compare to, but my experience with Crossing Paths was flawless and reassuring. I live in Philadelphia and to adopt a dog from the south (which to my understanding has a major overpopulation of dogs) I had my worries. I met the drivers of the transportation company who were upset to see me, not because they were tired or grumpy, but because they cared so much about my dog that they could hardly part with her. People who adopt animals obviously care about animals, so to know that the people who handle your pets care about your pets as much as you do is incredibly impressive. I’m not sure if you are aware, but this winter we had over 60 inches of snow, so you would assume a puppy from the south would have trouble, but Sara pranced around the snow like she was an Alaskan husky. This summer we have already had 90+ degree days, but Sara walks proudly with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. She has been spayed and is 100% up to date with her shots, the only problem we had was a short stint of tape worm which was quickly dealt with. I plan on adopting a sibling for Sara shortly and Crossing Paths will be my first and only stop.

Thank You,

Jeff Anton
