Hi Patricia,
I just wanted to provide you with an update on our adoption of Jackson. First he was renamed Oliver. He has learned his name and responds to it. It has been a month now and we love him. Yes he can be stubborn and is very curious and a tease, but he is becoming a very good dog. He is pretty much housebroken. He will sit, stay, give a high five and lay down on command. He is doing great on the leash. He wants to play with our cats, but they are reluctant. They tolerate him. He has fondness for digging and eating flowers and strawberry plants. He loves to play which we all enjoy doing with him. He is so much fun.
Our vet was very impressed with the care he received prior to our adoption. She also was impressed with the records kept on him.
I attached a picture for you. Thanks again for your help in this process. We couldn't be more happy with our puppy.
Best regards,
Ron Ziegler
The photos and stories posted here are not all of the stories but it portrays the happiness of the people who brought into their lives these precious babies. And these stories speak for themselves.

I loved this dog but what I love most of all is what the adopter says about that leap of faith when adopting from so far away. This is a great pat on the back for all of us and will make you smile!
Robin
Puppies are doing great!
Rescuing ONE dog may not change the world BUT
for that ONE dog, the whole world will change!

Hi Robin! I have been meaning to update you on Ebby for quite some time now ...so sorry it took so long. Anyhow she is awesome we just love her! I cannot thank you enough for making it possible for me to have her. What you folks do for these animals is wonderful! I have to admit I was a bit worried about adopting from so far away and not even meeting Ebby first ,but your phone calls, e-mails & the pictures helped so much, she is just the best girl. She makes me laugh almost everyday she is such a goof ,the best was her first big snow we ended up with about 2 feet she went to the door and just looked out and then looked at me...I guess she thought I was going to carry her, after I finaly convinced her to take that first leap she went nut's ,she even make's her version of snow angels...just kind of lays on her back and wiggles allover. She loves the river too... unfortunatly its a bit high right now ,have had quite a bit of rain the past few weeks so it's off limits which she is not to happy about. I will try to get some pics of her water adventures for you this summer. Just wanted to let you know that Ebby is doing great and to thank you again so much for helping me and for all you do for so many other homeless. THANK YOU!! Debbie

After putting my 13 year old lab to sleep last month I was heartbroken. My
niece recommended that I search for a new dog on Petfinder.com. I knew that
I wanted another lab and was immediately drawn to Banjo. I was hesitant at
first and had some anxiety about adopting a dog I had never met. After
speaking to Banjo's foster I decided that he was the dog for me. Banjo has
been with me for six days thus far and during that time has met many people
and pets. He has certainly become a wonderful companion. A real gem!
Banjo listens well and is eager to please. Everyone loves him.. They are
impressed by his pleasant, friendly disposition and tell both of us how
lucky we are to have each other. He has brought me such happiness. Thank
you Crossing Paths Animal Rescue!

This is another happy story
Dear Crossingpaths:
Cleaning out a closet I found your information on "Jackie." I had never read it. She was fostered by you on 4/11/09. She is a female, Jack Russell Terrier/Mix, white/tan/medium. She came from Crossing Paths Animal Rescue, Locust Fork, Alabama. We got her at Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, Leverett , MA.
We have had Jackie, I believe since 5/09. My husband trained dogs in the military and had dogs all of his life on his folk's farm. I never had a dog.
Our only daughter went off to college and my husband comes home with Jackie. I was not happy at the time. It took less than 24 hrs. for me to become enamored with Jackie. Jackie is so special. We adore her. She is so loving and craves and gives us affection. She has a great life with us.
She has the run of the house. She jumps from the sofa unto the dining room table. She sleeps in all of our beds. She can be wherever she wants to be in the house.
We have 3 female cats. You can find the 3 cats and the dog on one bed after they all have eaten. Each has their own corner.
We have a big yard. It is not fenced in. We put on a really really long leash and she truly enjoys her time outside. One of us usually stays outside with her or peeks out the window to make sure she is ok, since she can get tangled up in the trees or whatever.
Whomever comes to visit, Jackie greets them and if we are at the dining room table she just sits under the table, happy as can be.
She loves to eat, and is getting fat. She loves people food more than dog food. She gets regular veterinary care and anything we notice that is abnormal we bring her in. She has been very healthy.
If someone breaks into the house she will just be nice to them, so an attack dog she is not.
In the beginning while sleeping she would have nightmares and she would wimper loudly and shake. I would bring her to bed with me and I would talk to her and it would stop. I would stroke her and tell her that she was safe. That rarely happens now, once in awhile.
Jackie knows that we are devoted to her. We love her, what else is there to say.
My husband is a retired landscaper from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I retired as a Nurse after open heart surgery, and volunteer as a Christian Minister.
I know you will be happy to know that Jackie is living the good life.
All Blessings,
Rev. Pura Patnaude

BEWARE BEAR!!!
Linda,
My name is Bianca Marino. Last September, I (along with my boyfriend, Matt) adopted a golden retriever mix puppy, Sheldon, from your sister shelter in Alabama. We got him home, changed his name to "Bear" and loved him from the minute we saw him. We're coming up on his 1st Birthday (which I figured was around July 1st) and I wanted to just send you an email to thank you for putting Bear into our lives. That dog has changed my life and I've honestly never loved anything more in this entire world. Bear is a gentle, crazy, loving, fun puppy who makes me feel honored to be a dog owner.. and drives me nuts at the same time!! (as a puppy should!) When we adopted him, his papers said golden retriever/shepherd mix. However, as he hasn't grown more than 50 pounds and shows no signs of shepherd, we did some more research and we actually believe he is a golden retriever/chow chow mix. Is that possible? Anyway, people always say he "looks like a little lion" and they're definitely right! He is my whole world and I can't imagine my life without him. So, I would simply like to give you a big THANK YOU!!! for allowing me the privilege of sharing my life with him. I've attached several pictures, just in case you wanted to see how darn cute (and spoiled) he is!!!
P.S. In a few years, we will be getting him a brother and sister and I wouldn't think of going anywhere but with your shelter.
Thanks again!
