The following is an email exchange between rescuers and the adoption home of Russ.
Mary Ellen,
Not sure if you remember my Russ who escaped all the time and ended up in my house but the lady who adopted him, got him for her husband and they are best friends. The pictures are adorable. As you can see by the emails, it was definitely a happy ending. Start at the bottom and work your way up.
Thanks

Hi Rita!!! Oh Lord, when I see Russ's little face I vividly remember kissing that long nose and holding him. Of the more than 200 foster dogs I have had and gotten adopted out, Russ was one of my favorites, first by escaping from the kennel constantly so he ended up in my house and then it was all over for my heart! We spent so much time together that I got attached. I couldn't have wished for a better home for him than with your husband and your family. I know he has the perfect life and I am so happy for that. This little guy would have been euthanized in 24 hrs if we hadn't gotten him out and look where he is now.....just amazing. Thanks so much again for opening up your hearts and taking a chance on a sight-unseen rescue dog!!!! You are the angels for these dogs.
Hugs
Robin
Dear Robin:
Russ met the family big time over the holidays, being taken to a family Christmas Eve Dinner celebration one evening and Christmas Day with another family member the next day. I am happy to report he was a huge success at both affairs. He fit in beautifully, and really seemed to enjoy the company and the attention. Everyone fell in love with him!
Yes, we got lots of snow, and Russ seems to really enjoy the snow, my husband reports. He loves to run around in it until he is exhausted. Sadly, we got so much rain Christmas Day and the next, that the snow is all gone! I am happy the snow is gone, it is tough walking 3 dogs in the city when you are hemmed in by giant snow mountains.
Thank you again for everything that you do -- you are these animals saviors.
Happy New Year!
