This wonderful happy ending couldn't have come at a better time. This dog was so sad and depressed in the shelter and I spent many hours with her head on my lap, just petting her. Then she went to Donna's and got lots of attention and then she went to this wonderful forever home. What a great update!!!!!

Hi ladies,

I hope that this email finds you both well. It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since we adopted Sasha. Time flies by so quickly. I wanted to send you both a few pictures that we took on recent hike with Sasha as well as give you an update.

Sasha is doing really well. She and my younger cat have bonded and Sasha can frequently be seen cleaning his ears and vice versa. She's a happy girl who is always full of energy. She made it through the winter just fine but was confused at the sight of snow at first. Once she was used to it, she loved to play in it. Although she made due in the winter, Sasha is most definitely a Southern girl at heart. She adores the sunshine and loves to just sit outside and soak in some rays. She runs circles around our yard on a daily basis and loves to scratch her back on a bone that we gave her a while back. Her favorite activities are walks (of course), going on jogs with my husband, hiking, being brushed, and belly rubs. She really is a doll. Occasionally, when she gets super excited, she likes to "sing" to me. I call it that because it's the basset hound in her. It's almost a howl but it sounds like she's trying to talk to me and sing to me at the same time. She's also a klutz and fits into the family perfectly ;-). Those big paws are hard for her to lift up some times!

My mother-in-law has fallen in love with Sasha as much as we have. Whenever she comes over, Sasha just loses it with excitement. She wiggles all over the place until my mother-in-law sits on the ground with her and then attacks her with kisses. It's too funny.

Thank you both for bringing her into our lives. She's very well adjusted and content with us. She brings alot to our family and I can't imagine life without her.

Thanks again,

Melissa Perreault
